WATERSPORT PARADISE
From mid-October to April/May, La Ventana offers great conditions for a Baja California windsurfing vacation: warm water, good wind, and a variety of sailing sites well-suited to anyone from beginning water starters to freestyle experts. The north wind here is more consistent than other Baja locations due to the Venturi effect created by Cerralvo Island and the thermal suction from the rising hot air from the desert peninsula.
The wind usually starts late morning, light at first; and typically building to 15-25 mph in the afternoon. It usually blows for several hours a day with calm mornings and evenings for other activities or relaxing.There are also the epic days of the big Nortes; these days are peppered throughout the season and provide great high-wind sailing and swell for those who are up to it.
During the months of December, January, and February you probably want a full suit with short sleeves (3mm/2mm), especially if you get cold easily. Fo early and late season sailing a shorty or spring suit is fine. Bring gloves, booties and a helmet if you want them for sailing or kiting. Equipment Rentals
Sail sizes range from 3.2 to 7.5. Windfoil boards and sails are available for for the light wind days. We also have rental wetsuits and harnesses All equipment is rigged and ready in our bodega on the beach.
The resort is in the most ideal location in La Ventana – long, sandy launch area, negligible shore break, and a wide sweeping beach downwind with ATV rescue for those who may not be able to get back upwind. Hotel guests have priority on rental gear but plenty available for walk ins as well.
Multiple day discounts do not need to be consecutive. All prices include IVA tax. Pay w/cash (U.S. or Peso) or credit card (visa/mc). Guests and daily renters are responsible for loss or damage to equipment. Renters must sign risk waiver and provide credit card prior to rental.

Windsurfing is a subtle sport that demands a combination of some strength but mostly balance and finesse. It can also be a very long and frustrating road when you are trying to learn on your own.Qualified instruction can really shorten the learning curve and keep you from establishing and reinforcing bad habits. Lessons can be the best investment you make for improving your sailing ability. We have an instructor available on site for all levels.

6 hr package in three 2 hr segments- start with wing training on the beach, then quickly move onto the water on an inflatable SUP to get the water and wind feel, then tow foil training behind the jet ski; Next, combine the two skills on a beginner foil board with the wing. One-on-one instructor training with Bluetooth radio headsets and all gear $625 for three 2 hr lessons including 1 hour of foil training with Jet ski.
